    A Sneak Peek: What Works in Math Differentiation an Intervention Gr 2-8

    In this institute, we will use brain and math research to answer the question: How do we select the right task at the right moment to meet students’ needs? Whole group? Small group? Preview effective, evidence-based instructional strategies for math intervention.

    Full year cohort begins in the fall, culminating with participants becoming responsive and adaptive experts.

    Evidence-Based Comprehension and Intervention in the Elementary Grades PreK-5 FY24-25

    Elementary teachers and reading interventionists will learn about the research behind how children in PK-grade 5 develop comprehension. In particular, teachers will learn about the role of knowledge on readers’ linguistic comprehension skills, and how they can bring knowledge building practices into the literacy block to improve readers’ text understanding and overall literacy skill.

Our Members

Champlain Valley Educator Development Center (CVEDC) serves member school districts all over Northwestern and Western Vermont: Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, and a portion of Washington counties. CVEDC partners with 17 supervisory unions to provides educational services for over 35,000 students. Nearly 40% of the total PreK-12 student population of Vermont is positively impacted by our work.
