    Evidence-Based Comprehension and Intervention in the Elementary Grades PreK-5 FY24-25

    Elementary teachers and reading interventionists will learn about the research behind how children in PK-grade 5 develop comprehension. In particular, teachers will learn about the role of knowledge on readers’ linguistic comprehension skills, and how they can bring knowledge building practices into the literacy block to improve readers’ text understanding and overall literacy skill.

  • Evidence-Based Interventions and Brain Research in Math Instruction

    Effective Scaffolds and Becoming Responsive and Adaptive Experts in Math Instruction in Grades 2-6

    This yearlong series with a virtual cohort will include Brain-Based Math Instruction: Addressing Opportunities to Learn Math and Removing Barriers (Grades 2-8), Effective Math Intervention & Scaffolds, Grades 2-6 and end with Becoming Responsive and Adaptive Experts.

  • Instructional Coaching Cohort 6

    This course is designed to meet the learning needs of coaches with varying levels of experience. The learning opportunities are designed to fit within Jim Knight’s framework for Instructional Coaching and the Instructional Coaching Practice Standards developed by the New Teacher Center, as well as draw from Elena Aguilar (Transformational Coaching), Diane Sweeney, (Student-Centered Coaching), and Christian van Nieuwerburgh (Growth Coaching). You may register as a new coach or as one who has already attended the first coaching cohort and wants to move forward with their practice.

  • School Counselor Collaborative Cohort

    This course identifies the different phases every new and current counselor goes through, offering crucial strategies to navigate each. Participants return to schools equipped with proven instructional and self-care practices. Counselors will create a plan for implementation of the VT School Counseling Framework, and a monthly roadmap to follow that aligns with the VT Framework and ASCA.

Our Members

Champlain Valley Educator Development Center (CVEDC) serves member school districts all over Northwestern and Western Vermont: Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, and a portion of Washington counties. CVEDC partners with 17 supervisory unions to provides educational services for over 35,000 students. Nearly 40% of the total PreK-12 student population of Vermont is positively impacted by our work.
