Building iBooks into Your Digital Curriculum
Instructors: Robert Gervais and Jody Vaillancourt
iPads, tablets, eReaders, and Netbooks have rapidly changed the educational landscape.
Thoughtful re-design of course materials takes into account efficient access,
engaging layouts, interactive multimedia, and consideration for fair-use copyrights of
digital materials. This 3 credit course challenges teachers to examine their own curriculum,
identify and develop opportunities for 21st century learning, and create interactive
digital curriculum in the form of an eTextbook.
Integrated into the learning will be ISTE and Common Core State Standards, Puentedura’s
SAMR model of Technology Integration and the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.
Participants in this course will transform their own curriculum into digital products
which are evaluated for validity, relevance, and bias, and which help develop their students’
information literacy skills. Included in the cost of the course is an iPad mini, case and $25
