Joanne Finnegan

Joanne Finnegan has a 42 year history of educational experience in grade K – 12 public schools. She began her educational career in 1972 in New York State where she was a middle school math teacher. After moving to Vermont in 1983, she taught high school math and computer programming at Colchester High School, with a short stint teaching math in the middle school as well. In 1999, she left the classroom to take a position as a technology coordinator for Richmond and Jericho Elementary Schools. That position evolved into the role of Technology Integration Specialist for the Chittenden East Supervisory Union. In 2014, she retired from full time work, but remains active in the educational technology community, teaching graduate courses and working
with VITA-Learn. In her words “I finally found my niche in education, but just could not keep up with servicing eight buildings. I decided to leave the full time job behind, but I continue to do what I loved best about my job: support and teach educators
