Sara Baer Farrell

Sara Baer Farrell (MEd) has spent the last 21 years in education. She spent 18 of those years as an elementary classroom teacher and now supervises student teachers for St. Michael’s College. As a classroom teacher, Sara specialized in creating deep and authentic relationships with students, families and co-workers and piloted mindfulness practices in the classroom as well as play-based and nature-based learning initiatives. Sara is passionate about teaching holistically and creating nurturing and safe spaces for children to take risks and flourish. She believes that teaching with an open heart leads to profound personal growth for both students and educators alike.

Sara is a certified yoga instructor and loves to teach children and their caregivers how the human brain, nervous system, breathing and emotions work. Sara modeled and supported students to develop thoughtful interpersonal skills, radical self-love, personalized self-regulation strategies and overall confidence and self-awareness.

Sara has deep knowledge of learning progressions for elementary students across subject areas with special focus on math and literacy best practices and instruction. She knows how to use student data and observation to provide student-centered, differentiated instruction to ensure student growth. She has been trained as an Additive OGAP facilitator, led lesson study and professional learning groups and served on district-wide math and literacy committees during her teaching tenure.

In 2022, Sara intentionally left the classroom to be present for her three teen children as they grow into young adulthood. At the same time, she launched her own business, Love-Led Parenting Support to continue to support children and families in the community.

When not working, Sara enjoys devouring books, cooking, curating beautiful spaces, making art, playing outdoors and practicing yoga. Nothing makes her happier than spending quality time with dear friends and family.
