New Formats! Which CVEDC Offering is right for me?
We are excited to share that we have updated our offering formats for the 2025-2026 school year! With these updated formats, we aim to improve clarity within our menu of offerings as well as meet the needs of all of our members. We understand that professional learning is a time commitment and educators need a spectrum of options and availability in terms of time commitment spent when choosing a professional learning opportunity. Our four formats take this into consideration. We now offer: Full Year Series, Mini Series, Cohort Courses, and Workshops!
A Full Year Series starts with two in person days with the presenter(s) at a venue, either the CVEDC Classroom or larger conference room. Then, participants receive six modules to complete accompanied by six :45 min virtual follow up sessions with the presenter throughout the school year. Finishing with a final in person meeting with the presenter(s) in May.
A Mini Series- is a series that takes place in no more than 2 or three days with a presenter about a specific professional learning topic. A Mini SEries aims to be hands on and engaging for participants with information they can use in their classroom quickly.
A Cohort Course is: a course that meets for 5 or 6 full-day learning days in a cohort model at the CVEDC Classroom (or a hybrid option depending on the course and facilitators) throughout the year with an option for 3 Graduate Credits from St. Michael's College.
Workshops- Workshops typically take place during one day and are a targeted, focused exploration into a specific topic such as teaching writing, math menu, laboratory science, leadership, classroom engagement, etc. Participants can expect to work collaboratively, engage in hands-on learning experiences while building a specific knowledge base or skill set.
